Responding to the Government’s announcement today that the target for year two of the Clean Heat Market Mechanism, part of the Government’s effort to drive greater heat pump installations, will be set at 8% of relevant boiler sales, CEO of The MCS Foundation Garry Felgate said: “We welcome the Government’s commitment to the Clean Heat Market Mechanism, a key policy that will provide certainty for the heat pump sector and help meet climate goals. The higher targets for year two of the policy will help to drive up heat pump numbers further, following on from the growing market for heat pumps, with all of the last five years having been record years for MCS certified installations across the UK.
