Karen Shearer

Vice Chair 

Karen Shearer is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Director with extensive executive and non-executive leadership experience across the technology, charitable and not-for-profit sectors. Following a successful executive career in finance, including senior leadership roles at CANCOM UK & Ireland and Novosco, she has built a portfolio of board appointments focused on governance, strategic leadership and organisational sustainability. Karen brings deep expertise in financial stewardship, corporate governance, risk management and business transformation, supporting organisations through periods of growth and change while maintaining a strong focus on purpose, accountability and long-term impact.

As Vice Chair of The MCS Foundation and Trustee Chair of The MCS Service Company, Karen is committed to helping accelerate the UK’s transition to low-carbon homes by strengthening consumer confidence, quality assurance and governance across the renewable energy sector. Her cross-sector experience enables her to bridge commercial expertise with public benefit, helping organisations deliver meaningful, sustainable outcomes for the communities and sectors they serve.
