Electrified Heat Transition Tracker (EHTT)
The MCS Foundation is sponsoring the Electrified Heat Transition Tracker (EHTT) – a resource that brings together data on the adoption of heat pumps across the UK.
Decarbonising heat is one of the most significant challenges in the transition to net zero. While deployment of technologies such as heat pumps is increasing, progress varies across regions, building types and market segments. The EHTT aims to support policymakers and industry in better understanding progress and barriers by collating relevant datasets and highlighting key trends.
The project
The Electrified Heat Transition Tracker brings together key datasets on heat pump deployment into a single, regularly updated resource.
It collates and analyses information including MCS-certified heat pump installations, deployment of heat pumps in new homes and retrofit properties, and uptake of government schemes such as the Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
By combining these data sources, the EHTT provides clear, up-to-date analysis of how the UK’s transition to clean heating is progressing, and where barriers remain.
The EHTT is updated regularly, providing ongoing insight into trends and progress in the sector.
Early findings highlight:
- Strong growth in heat pump deployment in some segments
- Clear regional differences in adoption
- The continued importance of policy support mechanisms
These insights will help shape future policy, investment and delivery strategies.
