The MCS Foundation has welcomed the publication of the Government’s Solar Roadmap.

Welcoming the Solar Roadmap, Garry Felgate, Chief Executive of The MCS Foundation, said, “The Government’s ambition to increase access to solar panels for renters and people in flats, subject to safety reviews, is very welcome news.

“Rates of fuel poverty are higher in the private rental sector than in other types of housing, so renters will stand to benefit massively from being able to install solar panels which can bring down bills by hundreds of pounds a year.

“We look forward to working with industry and Government to make sure that solar panels fitted under the Government’s new proposals are installed to MCS standards to protect consumers.”
